Next month is LUST MONTH where we as a society celebrate ADULTERERS.

“We accept all cheaters as they are. God made them that way. Don’t hate on people who can’t choose who they sleep with.”

No, July is not actually LUST month. But could you imagine if it was? Isn’t it crazy that we live in a time where we can actually see this happening?!

When people don’t understand why Christians don’t support pride month, replace that sin with any other sin, and hopefully you’ll see the logic.

Is your employer asking you to engage, participate, or even educate others on Pride month? What should we as Christians do about it?

Politely decline.

I’ll share a lot of scripture to help you below but first, a few things to think about:

#1. Focus more on teaching Christians about this. We aren’t going to convince unbelievers.

#2. If the opportunity comes up, we can gracefully and confidently speak the truth in love if they are willing to listen.

#3. Remember if one’s frame of reference is not the Bible, then generally their viewpoint will vastly differ (which is why they insist any comment against their belief is hateful).

#4. Which is why we focus on sin not people. We are all sinners. It’s not about disliking humans. We just don’t applaude, high-five, or encourage sin. The Holy Spirit convicted us of our sin. We still love each other despite of our sinful nature. Because we love each other we push each other to walk out of our sin, to live by the Spirit NOT the flesh (Galatians 5:16) because even though we still live in this world, we were called out of it (John 17:14-18).

#5. And it’s not about our feelings. The Bible is our truth source. It doesn’t matter if I think people should be allowed to live in their sin. The Bible tells us not to. Therefore, I submit to God’s Word, not my opinion.

#6. Finally, understand what this Pride agenda/movement is about. It’s not only about some people who don’t feel loved and want to be accepted by society. It’s now about children getting sex-change operations; parents insisting babies aren’t born male or female; grown men walking into ladies’ restrooms; male athletes standing nude in college female locker rooms. And anything said against it is being considered a hate crime. The root is evil. Most gay people don’t even support these extremist’s false perceptions of reality.

Also, I never met one Christian that hated gay people. Don’t let anyone back you into that corner.

I encourage you to listen to Christians who left the homosexual lifestyle. Their words impact a little bit more because they’ve experienced these feelings, fought hard to support them, until one day they were TRANSFORMED by the Gospel, and now speak out against them.

If you want to read more, continue below.

1. Pride is a main SIN in the Bible. It’s why Satan fell like lightning. (Luke 10:18)

Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

2. The Rainbow is God’s.

Genesis 9:13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

3. Loving people is TOTALLY different than promoting and condoning sin.

James 5:19-20 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

1 Tim 5:20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.

4. Jesus sat with sinners to CHANGE them. He said drop everything and now follow me. He wouldn’t let us hold our sin flags high as we march behind him.

Is homosexuality a sin? (Six scriptures to know)

In some people’s minds, being homosexual is as much outside one’s control as the color of your skin and your height. On the other hand, the Bible clearly and consistently declares that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1–13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:10). This disconnect leads to much controversy, debate, and even hostility. (Gotquestions.org)

Romans 1:26-27 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,

1 Timothy 1:10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

What did Jesus say?

Matthew 19:4-6 4 He said to them, “Have you not read that He Who made them in the first place made them man and woman? It says, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will live with his wife. The two will become one.’ So they are no longer two but one. Let no man divide what God has put together.”

What do we do about it? (Great article with healthy tactics)

Life isn’t about our happiness. We aren’t supposed to chase what makes us feel good. You wouldn’t tell me it’s ok to watch pornography cause it makes me feel good. And I wouldn’t want you telling me it’s ok either and then creating a month-long celebration about it. Life is about denial of the selfish desires of the flesh. NOT succumbing to them and in the least bit, saying it’s OK.

The “pride” in Pride Month has nothing to do with a satisfied happiness compatible with godliness (Galatians 6:4; 2 Corinthians 7:4). Arrogant bragging about immorality is the kind of “pride” leading to God’s judgment (Proverbs 8:13; 16:8–9; Psalm 10:4). (Gotquestions.org)

Hey, “the saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst.

I thank him who has given me strength, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, 14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy)

If you’ve never heard the Gospel before, just know:

-Jesus lived the perfect life

-Died the death we deserve

-Rose from the grave three days later

-Appeared to the disciples and apostles and hundreds more

-gave instructions to them before he Ascended into Heaven to sit at the right of the father

-where he now Intercedes on our behalf

Whoever repents ands believes in Him shall receive mercy & forgiveness for their sins, the gift and power of his Holy Spirit, & shall not perish but have everlasting life.

We have been justified by his blood, saved from the wrath of God, and rejoice…for through Christ our names are written in Heaven and we are reconciled to our Father.

For these reasons we deny our old selves, walk in newness of life, put our hand to the plow and never look back for whoever does…

is not fit for the kingdom of God.
