🚨I have a secret hack below…👇🏼🚨
My wife taught me it. But first, this is the common “ask” as of lately at the gym, so here’s my super practical response to my members:
Ask yourself this simple question: Regarding any next level health endeavor, how likely are you going to actually make this (_) a continual habit? 🤔
Answering this question will determine whether or not it’s worth investing the time, money, and energy into anything new. 🔥
As with everything, consistency makes the biggest difference.
Cold plunging once in a while might feel good and possibly even have some benefits.
But if it’s not realistic to be consistent with it in your life, then you’re probably not going to reap the full benefits that the marketing research points to.
There are a lot of great things we can all do for our health. But time is limited and we honestly can’t do everything.
I like heat and I know I’d much rather get in an infrared sauna five days a week. That’s why I invested in an infrared sauna.
I don’t like cold water and I’m not gonna sit in it. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Here’s what I will do though: SUBMERGE MY FACE.
Yup. You can hybrid the cold plunge tactic and replicate some seriously great benefits. Plus it’s free, fast, and super doable.
Here’s how you do it:
✔️ Freeze a bowl of water. Big enough for your face. About 2-3 inches of water.
✔️ Take the bowl out. Pour a little water over it to thaw or let it sit if you have time.
✔️ Hold your breath and stick your face in it. Build up to :30 seconds. (Watch Dave Asprey explain here: https://youtu.be/79Ev4IcXmxA?si=ieqwLaTQ3ind4lxj)
**Cold plunging your face has a tremendous affect on your vagus nerve to help heal dysregulation.
I have friends who love plunging and do it regularly.
I have friends who bought the tub and never use it.
A lot of Cryotherapy clinics have closed after their initial boom we witnessed 2-3 years ago. It’s hard for people to make things like this a habit.
If the at-home tubs are truly effective, then I think people will still be talking about them in a few years. If not, they’ll be selling them on marketplace next to their pelatons!
Here’s what I’ll also add:
Review the research on what has the greatest impact on quality health and longevity and time and time again you’re going to come across this MOST
IMPORTANT INFLUENCER…
✅ Get strong by doing strength training.💪🏼
So if that’s not a habit yet…
Make that a habit.
Also eating right.
If that’s not a habit yet…
Make that a habit.
Whether I sit in a sauna…
Cold plunge…
Or both…
I consider these things supplemental to lifting and nutrition.
I love when people pursue healthy habits.
I just don’t want people to feel like they always need to jump on the latest trend or fad.
If cold plunging is not for you…
Then stay in the sun, or winter coats, or heated blankets, or by the fireplace, or infrared sauna like me all day long!
I’d love to know what’s your pick: Sauna or Ice water?
