At Discipleship night we landed on the topic of regeneration. This led into some great questions.
Are all humans children of God?
What happens to babies and children who die?
Why do some people call little children a child of God?
Here’s some resources for further exploration.
Do babies, toddlers, and aborted babies go to heaven?
Answer seems like yes according to principles in the bible because they fall under God’s Grace (not condemnation) because they aren’t able to clearly accept what they haven’t had a chance to “know” yet.
Are all humans children of God?
No. Only through spiritual rebirth (born again) do we become children of God. Ephesians 2:1, 8; John 3:3, 7; Titus 3:5; Romans 8:15; James 1:18
All humans are created in the image of God. God loves them. Yes. God wants all to repent. But not all do.
This led to another question: why do people call babies children of God? For example, a believer might fight for the rights of an unborn by calling them a child of God.
Seems like it’s better to say “creation” or “gift” from God. That’s how the Bible refers to babies and children.

Reminder, not necessarily something we need to rebuke when people mean well and have good intentions. It’s just a misunderstanding. We do want to be aware though of this teaching when it comes to correcting someone who is completely wrong and needs to know better. For example, if a Buddhist says “I’m going to heaven because I’m a child of God. You can say, no that’s not true. Read John 1:12. John 3. And John 8 for more clarification.
What’s the difference between temptation and testing?
God will never entice you to sin. If temptation arises you can’t blame Him. It’s coming from your sinful desires, the world, and the enemy. However, then becomes the testing opportunity that God will allow. How will you respond? Will you cave and take the bait? Or will you resist and draw nearer to Him and submit to the Spirit not the flesh?
What’s the difference between temptation and trials?
Both words could essentially be confused. “In the biblical context, trials often refer to external challenges and hardships, while temptations are internal struggles that entice individuals to sin. Both serve as opportunities for spiritual growth and reliance on God.”
