We’re coming off of Resurrection Sunday! Now what? Jesus instructs the disciples what to do during a 40-day period before His ascension. You can find some of his commands in the Great Commission at the end of Matthew, Mark, & Luke, and beginning of Acts 1. Part of this commission is to PROCLAIM the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ. How do we do that?

I like to keep things as simple as possible. *See below. Here’s what helps me. I’ve also become better at incorporating the Gospel into my personal testimony because after all, our testimonies are not about us. They are to be used to point people to Jesus.

As Christians, we have all been given 1 Great Commission to GO and preach the Gospel.

Here are 2 Go-To scriptures to memorize to help us do that: 1 Corinthians 15 + Acts 2:38.

And 3 Simple S’s to always incorporate when sharing your personal Gospel Testimony: Sin, Savior, So what.

What type of sin did you leave, overcome, recognize when you discovered Jesus? What truth did you discover about our savior Jesus Christ through his death and resurrection? How have you confessed, repented, and being continually changed (sanctified) through the work of Jesus Christ and the gift of His Holy Spirit in your life?

#1. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.

#2. Acts 2:38

38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Other Scripture I often use to summarize the Gospel message for new believers…

Romans 3:10 “None is righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Mark 8:34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.

Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Luke 24:47 “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for[c] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Philippians 2:3-5 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

James 2:17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Luke 6:43 “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 Forevery tree is known by its own fruit.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.

Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
