Never say never, I know. But it’s been over two years since I’ve been sick. Three years since I’ve been laid out from being sick. So even if I get sick next week, it’s still been a great streak! (*ok technically last Feb I had to lay down for a few hrs of intentional rest when my wife and kids had 12-hr bug).
People have been getting wiped out lately with illnesses. This is the worst I’ve seen in three years. Interesting no one is talking about it anymore. 🤔
While everyone has been going down left and right, I’ve been grateful to God for protecting me and dissecting why my immunity has been so strong lately.
While there are definitely more than two reasons, for the purpose of this article I’m mainly reflecting on the MAIN TWO. Meaning, these seem to have had the biggest influence on my health and therefore, I apply my energy & focus to make sure I don’t fail in these two departments. *For bonus points I’ll still mention the other variables.
#1. Eliminate all inflammatory foods.
When everything went down in March 2020, my wife and I immediately went to what we know about health: defend from the inside. Our bodies are loaded with viruses, germs, and bacteria. Like ticking time bombs, viruses are waiting to be triggered. Things like high-stress overload and inflammatory foods can trigger illnesses.
Many people don’t realize it, but they’re getting colds, sinus infections, headaches, fevers, “flu’s” because of inflammatory foods. This past summer five of my members got sick. Since they all participate in my wife’s nutrition coaching program, they were fully in-tune to why. They were out of routine for a few days. They overloaded on junk foods they don’t usually eat. After a little bit too much, their body negatively reacted and they got sick.

#2. Infrared Sauna (watch video)
The detox, cleansing, and healing that happens from sweat and infrared technology is amazing. I jump in our sauna every day. I knew it was worth the investment when I read through the research years ago. I feel bad for people who don’t have access to one! Could this be the biggest game-changer for preventing or fighting off sicknesses? Possibly. As of now, I’ll still stick to nutrition as being our greatest defense. However, if I even feel the slightest setback coming, I jump in the sauna for 30 minutes and instantly walk out feeling better.

Yup, I believe it. I pray (to Jesus, not Mother Nature or Vibes) for my wife and kids daily. I pray for God to protect me daily. Last year when my family had the 12-hr bug, I literally prayed that I didn’t throw up and I felt the bug disappear. NUTZ right? I know. I still don’t believe it either.
I don’t shy away from sick people. I’m not afraid if they are in my presence. Kids hack away all the time at the gym. I know it’s a major benefit to my immune system. Oh, and I’m not a fan of ever covering my face. Give me that oxygen baby!!!
